Welcome to Literacy Superstars! I’m Leslie Smith, and I’m here to empower struggling readers and the parents who love them. With over 34 years of experience teaching reading—and 24 of those years as a resource specialist in special education—I know firsthand the challenges (and triumphs!) that come with learning to read.

I provide dyslexia therapy for children who need structured, research-backed support to become confident readers. But I don’t stop there. I also coach and consult with parents, giving you the tools and guidance to support your child’s literacy journey at home. When parents work hand in hand with an expert and learn how to support dyslexia therapy, a child can make transformative progress quickly.

I’m trained in the Orton-Gillingham method and certified as a Dyslexia Specialist by CERI (Center for Excellence in Reading Instruction), an affiliate of the International Dyslexia Association. I’m also a certified Dyslexia Therapist with Lexercise. Beyond my private practice, I mentor and coach new special education teachers in my school district, sharing my expertise to improve literacy instruction for even more children.
